Social Model Drug and Alcohol Treatment
Programs
Social
Model Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs emphasize learning
through "doing and experiencing" while providing
positive role models. Sober shores blends Social Model
with one-on-one counseling, group sessions along with
an introduction to and education on 12-step programs that
will serve as a support group after completion of the
treatment program.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
Individual therapy consists of meeting one-on-one with
an Addiction Counselor to address the underlying issues
behind the addiction. The counselor will aid the client
in exploring possible causes for his or her self destructive
behavior.
GROUP SESSIONS
Group sessions are geared toward understanding and finding
a resolution to the faulty belief systems and root causes
of alcohol and drug addiction within the context of a
group of peers. Generally, individuals believe that they
have a unique set of problems. When they talk about their
issues among peers and with trained counselors, they are
able to see and hear how others in the "same drug
and alcohol treatment programs" are resolving issues.
This allows the client to give and receive peer support
while simultaneously knowing that they are not alone,
thereby helping to alleviate feelings of guilt and worthlessness.
SPIRITUAL COUNSELING
Healing the mind, body and spirit can include spiritual
counseling. If you would like some help with a question
relating to a spiritual matter we have advisors available
upon your request.
TWELVE-STEP PROCESS
Working the twelve steps of recovery sets the foundation
for your journey outside of the drug and alcohol treatment
program. Our clients will be introduced to the twelve-step
process and sponsorship. They will begin working on the
steps in a group session. The client will be educated
on what each step represents and also how and when it
can be applied to his/her life.
